The Chinese Entrepreneur Association (CEA) is a non-profit organization consist of Christian entrepreneurs and business professionals whose mission is to develop godly leaders, professionals and teams who will use their professions and business as platforms to enrich the life of people in China.

CEA was formed in 1998 in Philadelphia by a group of Christians to respond to the needs of many young Chinese professionals and entrepreneurs who like to establish themselves at their present position and eventually extend their services to China. Since its inception, CEA has grown steadily with chapters in Boston, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham, Ottawa, Toronto, New York-New Jersey, San Francisco and Hong Kong. CEA provides networking opportunities, programs for training and the exchange of knowledge and technical expertise, mentoring and coaching programs, an annual national conference, and numerous technology and business seminars hosted by local chapters.

Besides wanting to be known as business and professional people who conduct their businesses in an ethical manner, we also want to be known as men and women who have a heart for China. It is apparent to us that the entrepreneur and business professionals have a unique platform in China, and we want to encourage the Christian entrepreneur and business professionals to respond to this unique calling as a “lay minister” and become God’s light and salt to enrich the life of people in China.

Meet our board members

Denise Chen, Ph.D.

Denise is now an Applications Scientist at Seahorse Bioscience leading the technical team supporting the Asia-Pacific market.  She has had more than 6 years of experience in Biotech industry including assay and product development, as well as the last two years in Shanghai Zhangjiang High-tech park setting up the sales & marketing office and lab as the company’s Asia-Pac headquarter.

Currently she is also a consultant in the biomedical device, bioengineering, and life science field connecting biotech business between North America and Asia-Pacific market.

Denise got her B.S. in Biotech at Zhejiang University in China, and her M.S. in Biology from University of Louisiana. After her Ph.D. from University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, Denise pursued her postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School.

Yuhua Li, Ph.D.

Dr. Li is a co-founder of Foresee Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and currently serves as its Vice President of Research and Development. His responsibilities include strategic planning, R&D budget and daily operational activities, and intellectual property (IP) portfolio management. Dr. Li was previously Director of Formulation R&D at QPS, LLC, where he was responsible for product research and development. He is a co-inventor for the novel controlled release drug delivery platform technology that Foresee Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is founded on. Dr. Li has more than 15 years of pharmaceutical industrial experience in the field of drug delivery and pharmaceutical product development. Prior to joining QPS, Dr. Li worked for FeRx Incorporated from May 1999 to June 2004 where he was a principal scientist leading a research team to develop magnetically targeted drug delivery systems. Dr. Li was also responsible for the chemistry, manufacture and control (CMC) development resulted in a successful filing of an IND with U. S. FDA. He also contributed significantly to another IND approved by China’s State Drug Administration (SDA). In addition, Dr. Li was also awarded two SBIR grants from NIH during his tenure at FeRx. From 1997 to 1999, Dr. Li was a Senior Scientist at GeneMedicine Inc. working in the area of gene delivery and formulation development. Dr. Li received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Clemson University, South Carolina, and his post-doctoral training in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Stephen Lo

Stephen Lo is president and CEO of Erika Lynn Designs, Inc. located in Manhattan, New York. He also has offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Stephen obtained his bachelor’s degree in Fashion & Textile Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He began his career as an entrepreneur in 1989 when he opened his first production agency in Hong Kong. He catered primarily to the apparel industries in the UK and the USA for 3 successful years.  Determined to increase his business potential he then relocated to the USA.Ê The strong foundation he built from his experience in HK allowed him to successfully venture into the private label arena in 2005.Ê A dedicated work ethic is one of his strongest suits, and his strong ties to industry professionals are his greatest available asset.

Justin Ren, Ph.D

Justin Ren is an Associate Professor of Business Administration and Dean’s Fellow in the Operations and Technology Management Department at Boston University School of Management. He is also a Research Affiliate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management. At Boston University, Professor Ren teaches Core operations management courses, and an analytics course which focuses on tools and frameworks that help managers gain market intelligence and make strategic decisions. He also teaches in executive education in financial risk management. He is a certified teacher by the Harvard Business School Case Method Discussion Leadership Program.

Professor Ren received his M.S. in Operations Research and Ph.D. in Operations and Information Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Sean Wang, Ph.D

Sean Wang is the founder and managing director of B&W TEK INC, a total solution provider in OED/OEM medical lasers, bio-photonic instruments and analytical devices. He is a seasonal entrepreneur specialized in early stage start-up. He had started, incubated, helped, managed and invested more than a dozen technology and medical device start-ups. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and M.S./B.S. in applied physics. He is a member of Wilmington Community Evangelical Church, Delaware.

David Wu

David Wu is President of Accuview Inc. located at East Brunswick, NJ (newly moved to) since 1990. He has more than 25 years experience of services, OEM private label and commercial/industrial manufacturing in LCD display industry.

David started his business from Los Angeles flea market in 1986. He grows the business with his two partners from 4 people to a 170 people organization with three branches at LA, Dallas and NJ in three years.

David is highly sensible of the market changes especially in electronics display industry, and he is able to closely following the trend of the industry. In 2000, David successfully transformed the business from a service oriented company to private label OEM. David is now leading the company to market and sell the customized design display products under the brand name, Accuview.

David receives his master degree of Engineering at Lamar University, Beaumont Texas in USA in 1985 and his bachelor degree in Marine Engineering from Tamkang University in 1981.
