At our regular gathering at Qualcomm Fellowship last week, I raised a question to the group, “Have you had a clear goal for 2013 yet?”.file8521241533718

According to a survey, 70% of people who had clear goals at the beginning of year would do better than those have never thought of any goal in terms of self-improvement. Those who put their goal in writing will have 80% more chances of completing their goal than those who are only thinking about goals.  In our last meeting at Qualcomm fellowship, we studied Genesis chapter 45. What caught my eyes was verse 5. Joseph said to his brothers: “And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves, because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life”.  In this verse, Joseph clearly understand one of the purposes for which God let him go through all the sufferings is for the purpose of preserving life. Again, a clear goal guided and directed Joseph’s very unusual reactions of giving and forgiving when he met his brothers who had tried to kill and bury him earlier.

Therefore, here is a friendly reminder. Let us spend few minutes to think, to question or to determine what we really need to improve for 2013. Write it down. Turn those ideas and thoughts into your personal goal for 2013.
